Broadwindsor Jubilee Group events 2014
Saturday and Sunday June 7 & 8
Broadwindsor Fun Weekend
The story behind Broadwindsor Jubilee Group: Back in 2002, a group of people in the village got together to organise a street party for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee.
The event was a huge success. The Broadwindsor Jubilee Group was born.
Every year since, the group has held a fun day on Bernards Place – the village green. During the year, they also hold other events, such as coffee mornings and quizzes, to help pay for the big day in June.
Any money left over is distributed to local groups.
Of course, 2012 was a very special year because it marked the Queen’s diamond jubilee. Events were held over the weekend of 2-5 June and included a scarecrow competition, a flower festival, street party, live entertainment and the lighting of a beacon.
Broadwindsor was one of the busiest communities in Dorset.
